CITY OF GOODLAND – BENEFIT
SUMMARY
CLASSIFIED FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES
(Effective 1-1-2001)
HOLIDAYS-
Ten and one-half holidays per year.
VACATION HOURS- 0 – 2 years 48

SICK LEAVE-
Eight (8) hours per month of service (maximum accumulation 960
hours) Employees who retire or voluntarily separate will be paid for unused sick leave at the rate of one-half their normal pay
RETIREMENT-
Employee is enrolled in the Kansas Public Employees Retirement
System (KPERS).
Benefits include death,
service-connected death, disability and retirement.
HEALTH INS.-
The City of Goodland Health Insurance Plan includes health,
prescription and dental coverage. City pays entire cost of premium.
SECTION 125
PLAN- This plan is available to employees on a voluntary basis.
It allows employees to make elective salary reduction contributions on a
pre-tax basis to purchase benefits. Benefits include: Medical Expense
Reimbursement, Dependant care expenses and Cancer Insurance.
SHORT TERM -
The City pay 50% of the cost of a short term disability/life
insurance benefit.
DISABILITY
AND The disability policy pays 66 2/3% of employee’s weekly compensation
beginning
LIFE INSURANCE
on the 30th day of continuous disability due to
injury or sickness. The life insurance benefit is equal to employee’s
annual rate of pay.
DEFERRED COMP-
Employee may participate in deferred compensation program
through the ICMA-Retirement Corporation(457K plan) or Aetna
