10 full time sworn Law enforcement officers
2 part-time sworn law enforcement officers
3 full time civilian personnel
The Full time law enforcement personnel consists of:
1 Chief of Police
2 Corporals
1 investigator/patrol officer
6 patrol officers
1 office manager
1 records clerk
1 animal control/code enforcement officer.
Functions of the Goodland Police Department:
Enforce the city ordinances for the City of Goodland, and the state statutes of the State of Kansas
Patrol the streets of the city
Protect life, property, the peace and welfare of the citizens of Goodland
Investigate crimes that occur in the City of Goodland and to investigate traffic accidents
Other obligations of the Goodland Police Department:
Provide assistance to the citizens in need
Respond to emergencies
Help educate the public by answering questions concerning laws and illegal activities
Put on talks on crime prevention, drug prevention, bicycle safety, and I-DENTA KID programs as well as other programs that may arise
