Department Head: Steve Criswell-Building Official/Code Enforcement Officer

The City of Goodland Inspection/Code Enforcement Department reviews plans for construction projects, license contractors to work within the City, issues construction permits and inspects construction sites to verify code compliance.  This Department also handles applications for Home Occupation Permits, Re-Zoning applications and Sub-division Plats and re-plats as well as Board appeals.  This Department is also responsible for the enforcement of City codes as adopted by the Governing Body of the City to ensure an attractive, safe and healthy place to work and live.

The Inspection/Code Enforcement Department is open Monday-Friday; 7:00 am-12:00 pm, and 1:00 pm -4:00 pm.

The Inspection/Code Enforcement Department consists of one full time employee ICBO certified in Building, Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing Inspections as well as Plan Review and two part-time assistants.
